Day 15: School rules!

We are overwhelmed by the amount of money that has been pledged to us in the past 24 hours, which means we have been able to hire a painter and build more shelving AND install benches into the school library.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated!

So today, we woke up to boiled eggs and cereal, and then set off for our 3rd day at Ulandi Primary School. After a successful 2 days of teaching, we were all buzzing to meet up with our groups of children again, and were excited to spend another day with them. There was a competitive atmosphere between us as we began preparing our groups for the talent show on Friday. Lyrics were being learned, and actions being taught. We then got to visit the school library again and got to see the progress being made. We packed books away and moved existing shelving to make way for the painters to begin their work. It was all extremely exciting, and we were all reminded of the positive change we are making.

After school, we returned to the campsite and had lunch - tuna or egg mayonnaise as sandwich fillings! Then, we visited some stalls and bartered with the local craftsmen, getting some impressive bargains! We then started preparing 'goody bags' which we will be distributing to the children on Friday, to make sure they have something to remember us by. We really want to leave our mark and want to ensure they stay motivated and continue to enjoy learning :)

We have just had dinner and are now about to start a campfire on the beach.
