Day 12: Arriving at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge

This morning, instead of waking up to the sound of hippos, we were woken up by a busy road and a truckload of tourists on our campsite! We had our first cooked breakfast of the trip - bacon, scrambled eggs and bread - which was a great start to a long day of travelling. We made a stop at 'Shoprite' to stock up on food for 23 people for the whole of next week, spending a grand total of 272,594.64 kwacha!! We then set off for our 4 hour journey which we spent sleeping, making bracelets and eating loads of biscuits. After arriving at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge, we had lunch and set up our tents, and then took a stroll on the beach. We also took a group picture with the stunning view of the lake in the background. We then got down to cleaning the truck and preparing everything for the next week at school. Currently, we are finishing off our lesson plans for tomorrow and planning to get an early night so we are ready and raring to go in the morning!
